Our Distinctives and Philosophy of ministry

Identity statements & Values

This is a non-exhaustive list of statements that we and many of those we’ve served feel accurately describe our distinctive as a ministry.

  • We sing, read and pray Scripture every time we gather for worship and endeavor to create art.

  • Our ministry is not performative, nor is a chiefly observational

  • We predominantly come from Baptist backgrounds but are thankful for the ways the Lord has allowed us to serve and be shaped by faithfully biblical and theologically orthodox ministries outside of the Baptist tradition.

This experience has led us to a well rounded and diverse liturgy incorporating deliberate calls to worship, responsive scripture reading, robustly trinitarian prayers, diverse hymnody, and so on.

  • Lighthouse Music is a family of incredibly gifted artists, musicians, worship leaders and producers with wildly different skillsets. That blessing, when left unchecked can lead to a prideful performative mentality and unhealthy individuality. Instead of hiding behind homogenous unity, we seek a unity that embraces diversity and unique gifting in Christlike humility.

Our Philosophy of ministry

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts. Worship the Lord in holy splendor; tremble before him, all the earth. Say among the nations, ‘The Lord is king!’
— Psalm 96:8–10

Lighthouse Music is a collective of artists, worship leaders, writers, and producers passionate about seeing the name of Jesus lifted high and His Word dwell richly among His people. We serve the church through songwriting, recording, production, and leading, always with the aim of helping people behold the glory of God and respond in spirit and truth.

While we’re rooted in our own local church communities, we love linking arms with ministries across the body of Christ. Whether in gathered worship, a studio project, or a writing room, our heartbeat remains the same: to disciple through song and serve the church with biblically grounded, theologically rich, and pastorally intentional worship.

When we plan to lead worship, we ask: Does this ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name? We draw from a range of sources such as modern worship, timeless hymns, and original songs we’ve written with the common goal of pointing hearts toward Christ and nurturing those gathered in spiritual maturity. We’re not here to perform. We’re here to equip, encourage, and proclaim the gospel through music.

And in all we do, we carry this prayer: that the truth of God’s Word would form us, that gratitude would overflow from our hearts, and that our songs would bear witness both to the church and to a watching world that Jesus is King.
